Currently, I work in Banking and am a pretty good at my job. My next move would be branch manager or small business loan consultant thats an earned income of around 80-100k yr. but i have been researching a career as a a retail buyer for sometime now and i think i would like that path much more. My parents are furious and think i would be leaving a stable promising career for an outrageous dream... also if i do this it would take 5-7yrs before i am acutally a buyer and i would face a huge cut in salary. my outlook: i don%26#039;t have any responsibilities besides myself so i should go for it plus im young (very early 20%26#039;s) my parents outlook: at the rate im going in banking i could be CEO one day. HELP!!! is this just a phase???

Look at it like this, you%26#039;ve done a job that your parents loved you in. . .it got you some great experience and I%26#039;m assuming excellent references. Now it%26#039;s time to tackle that dream of YOURS!!! If being a retail buyer is where your heart is at, at this point why the heck not go for it! You%26#039;re still young enough that if you get into it and decide it%26#039;s not what you want, you can either go back to banking or explore other opportunities.

What you ultimately do is up to you. But if you want to follow your dreams then do that, just look and the pros%26#039;s and con%26#039;s of each job. There is also another choice, you could work for yourself.
